PulseNet Africa Regional Meeting: Strengthening Genomic Surveillance Across Africa

From December 11-13, 2024, PulseNet Africa hosted a dynamic regional meeting, bringing together representatives from Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Cameroon, South Africa, Ethiopia, Burundi, and Tunisia.

Over the three days, participants collaborated to advance genomic surveillance efforts across the continent. The meeting served as a valuable platform for sharing insights into how genomic data is transforming public health in each country. From tracking infectious diseases to guiding effective control measures, every nation showcased the profound impact of genomic surveillance on improving health outcomes.

The exchange of knowledge, strategies, and innovations was truly inspiring. Participants left the meeting equipped with new ideas and best practices to implement back home, strengthening both national systems and regional partnerships.
